We're Expecting!

The Wednesday night before Thanksgiving I got out of class early. I decided to go up to Hendersonville and get my nails done. Todd met me over there after work and we went over to Cracker Barrel for an early dinner, then decided we needed to run to Wal-Mart for a few things, while we were there I decided to pick up a pregnancy test, I was two days late according to my chart, I had started temping due to my newly irregular cycles. Todd and I then went our separate ways, me home and him to play poker with the guys. I was sitting on the couch debating on wether or not to take the test but figured might as well wait till morning because its best to do with first morning urine.

Well Thursday morning came and I kept waking up from dreams of having a positive pregnancy test. At 6:45 I decided I might as well go ahead and take the test to get it off my mind. So I got up and took it, placed it on the back of the toilet and finished doing my thing. Stood up, flushed, and oh my god....it was positive as could be! I had taken tons of tests previous months, all negative. I was so shocked! I opened the bathroom door and woke up Todd to tell him I was pregnant, to say the least he was surprised. Definitely didn't say much that morning.

morning test and took another one that night just to make sure

First thing he did was call his sister to make sure she didn't throw away any of her baby's stuff (she has a 2 year old). I then talked on the phone with her for about half an hour and it really started to hit me and I started to get excited. Then on the way to his parents for Thanksgiving we called his mom (because we weren't going to see her that day) and told her, she started screaming with excitement.

Next we got to his dads and broke the news to them, they didn't say much at first. But once the idea sunk in they started to get excited and talking about the baby.

We went to two family events of his before making it to my parents. We were so scared to tell them, Todd was begging me not to, said it would ruin their day. They had been telling us since the wedding "wait 5 years." Well during dessert I got up enough nerve to tell them, and actually started crying from all the emotions, the first thing my dad said was "really? thats great, congratulations" They weren't mad at all. They started asking questions, and it really made me excited! The only thing bad my mom said was "You know I am to young to be a grandma right?" Haha, fair enough she is only 47.

Well Black friday came, and I got to my moms at 10:00 am, they had gotten up and gone shopping at 3:30 am. When I got there she pulled out this little onesie that was red and said "the only thing my mommy wants for christmas is a silent night" for next christmas. It was so precious. We then went to Kohls and she bought me bigger bras, I am already busting out of mine and some shirts to grow into.

So I have my first doctors appointment to confirm everything on Wednesday, but according to my chart I will be due Aug 2 (my 21st birthday). However I WILL be induced before then due to insurance purposes and my mom and dad are leaving for Wyoming on August 1 and my mommy has to be there for the birth of her first grandchild!
